Tour Details
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
Upon your arrival in Arusha, you'll be greeted by our team and transferred to your accommodation. Take the opportunity to rest and prepare for the adventure ahead.
Day 2: Arusha to Momela Gate, Hike to Miriakamba Hut
After breakfast, we'll drive to Momela Gate, the starting point of our Mount Meru trek. Here, we'll complete registration formalities before beginning our hike through lush montane forest. Along the way, keep an eye out for wildlife such as colobus monkeys and bird species. We'll reach Miriakamba Hut in the afternoon, where we'll enjoy dinner and spend the night.
Day 3: Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut
Today's hike takes us through open grasslands and past the spectacular Maio Falls as we ascend to Saddle Hut. Along the way, we'll have panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes, including Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance. Upon reaching Saddle Hut, we'll settle in for the evening, enjoying dinner and resting before our summit attempt.
Day 4: Summit Day - Saddle Hut to Peak, Descent to Momela Gate
We'll rise early for our summit attempt, starting our ascent under the glow of the stars. As dawn breaks, we'll continue our climb towards Socialist Peak, the highest point on Mount Meru. Upon reaching the summit, we'll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the sunrise over the surrounding plains. After celebrating our achievement, we'll begin our descent back to Saddle Hut for breakfast. From there, we'll continue our descent to Momela Gate, where our trek concludes. You'll be transferred back to your accommodation in Arusha to rest and reflect on our unforgettable journey up Mount Meru.
